When? Various dates – August
Where? Cortona – Tuscany
Every Summer, Cortona is home to a steak festival, the most important gastronomic event in the Tuscan town. Three nights at the Parterre park, where to taste Chianina T-bone steaks, served rare and weighing about 800 grams each.
Cooked on a grill amongst the longest in Italy, the steaks are accompanied by excellent seasonal fruit, local wine (such as Cortona and the Chianti DOC) and the famous “pecorino” cheese.
In addition to the T-bone steak, a food market offers typical Tuscan specialties as costolecci (cutlets), sausages, ham and ciaccia (focaccia bread) with cannellini beans, cold meats and salami, preserves and jams.
