Piccolo Convento is a delightful, completely restructured apartment on the first floor of an old building which was originally a convent. It is located within walking distance of Cortona’s main square. A public parking is available in the area. Staying at Piccolo Convento allow guests to fully enjoy and live the historic center of Cortona.
Piccolo Convento is an elegant apartment housed on the first floor of a 16th century former convent.
The flat has an area of 70 sq m (about 753 sq ft) and can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests.
Guests access Piccolo Convento from a street-level entrance, then climb a communal staircase (no lift) to enter the apartment. The entrance leads to an open-plan area with a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room.
Beautifully decorated with antiques and design pieces, Piccolo Convento also features original marble beams with Latin engravings. Visitors can relax on a velvet sofa and on a 19th century armchair.
Cortona is a picturesque village due to its typically medieval aspect, an old town full of historic buildings, cobbled narrow alleys, small artisan shops, and typical Tuscan “trattorias”. In the past, Cortona was an important Etruscan town, and its ancient settlements can still be seen. Proof is the 2km of Etruscan walls built in the 5th century b. C.
Piccolo Convento is located near the Cortona’s main square where there are small artisan shops, gelato shops, restaurants. Also, one can enjoy a good glass of wine sitting in the piazza while watching passersby.
Moreover, in Cortona visitors can enjoy a day at the Museo dell’Accademia Etrusca, home to some of the Italy’s most important art treasures, and at the Museo Diocesano, where one can admire works of Beato Angelico and Luca Signorelli.
The apartment is in the so-call Limited Traffic Zone (a restricted traffic area in Italy), but the location and the proximity to the public parking lot make Piccolo Convento the perfect for exploring villages and cities of art in Tuscany and Umbria.

The picturesque town of Cortona, made famous by the movie ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ is perched on a hill overlooking the Valdichiana valley. This beautiful medieval town is rich in history and art, but also excellent restaurants, cafes and ice-cream parlors. All are within walking distance from Piccolo Convento.
Piccolo Convento is in the so-call Limited Traffic Zone (a restricted traffic area in Italy), but public parking can be reached in a 5-minute walk.
The town of Camucia is less than 4 km away. Here one can find bigger supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pizzerias, a train station, ATMs, cafes and petrol stations. Every Monday at Piazza Segardi, in Camucia, one can shop at the CIA’s market (Italian Farmers Confederation) and buy zero mile farm products.
Together in Tuscany main office is located in Terontola, only 15 km from Piccolo Convento, and there are a small supermarket, ATMs, petrol stations, a post office and a train station.
At Terontola-Cortona station, there are Intercity and Frecciarossa trains straight to Firenze, Roma, Orvieto, Perugia, Venezia.
Distances by car: Montepulciano 30 km, Pienza 40 km, Siena 60 km, Castiglion Fiorentino 20 km, Lucignano 25 km, Passignano sul Trasimeno 25 km, Corciano 40 km.
Distances by train: Roma 2h30, Florence 1h30, Assisi 1h10, Orvieto 1h, Arezzo 25 min, Perugia 40 min.

Airports: Florence 1h30, Rome 2h, Pisa, about 2h20.
Closest railway station: Terontola-Cortona (for Florence and Rome).
