This beautiful and antique house is found on the summit of the Cortona hill, from where you can admire a really unforgettable panorama over the hills of the cities below, the entire Valdichiana valley, with its surrounding nature and a beautiful view of Lake Trasimeno.

  • Casa Ombretta faces the small square of the property and is spread over 3 levels, with a completely fenced private garden of around 500sq.mt.
    The house is one of the oldest of the town and was restored a few years ago; is furnished with notable Tuscan style furniture, some of which are antiques.
    The entrance is on the ground floor and welcomes guest into a entrance area with an original fireplace from the 1300’s, a suite made up of a double bedroom, a small living room, a small kitchen and a bathroom with a shower and there is a French door into the garden.
    An internal staircase leads on the first floor in which there i a large open space made of a living area with lounges, armchairs, satellite TV, and a kitchen supplied with all the electric appliances; a dining table and a panoramic terrace with a staircase leading into the garden completes this part of the floor. On this floor there is also a beautiful double bedroom with a canopy bed, an bathroom with a hydro-massage tub and a lounge room with a sofa in which is possible to relax and read a book.
    Another internal staircase leads you to the second floor in which is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a hydro-massage shower a living room with a well supplied bookcase and another double bedroom with a en-suite bathroom with a hydro-massage shower.
    The first part of the garden that is in front of the villa is furnished with outdoor furniture, suitable for open-air dinners and has a fresh breeze that is supplied by the plants, the second part has sun beds with very large shady plants.

  • The city of Cortona has available 2 small mini-markets, a pharmacy, many small typical restaurants in which it is possible to taste traditional Tuscan cuisine and excellent restaurants written up in the famous national and international gourmet guides, ice-cream parlours and cafes with outside table for a coffee or an aperitif while watching the passing parade.
    In the valley, there is Camucia, the commercial area of Cortona, where there are big supermarkets with excellent choices of local and national products, the train station (without a ticket office), banks, pharmacies and petrol stations
    Cortona is an excellent departure point for daily visits to different places of this area of Tuscany and Umbria.

    Railway station: at Terontola-Cortona [for Florence and Rome].
